What kind of course is this?
This language course is meant to teach you the basics of German.
It will help you to cope with everyday life in Germany.

What to expect from this course?
You will learn expressions and phrases concerning the most important parts of
everyday life:

  • Introducing yourself
  • Talking about yourself
  • Asking the way, using public transport
  • Communicating with public authorities, schools and banks
  • Communicating with doctors and hospitals
  • Shopping, clothes and food
  • Leisure activities
  • Habits, conventions and festivals

You will also get to know the local conditions regarding:

  • Shopping possibilities
  • Medical care
  • Public transport
  • You do not need any previous knowledge to participate.

How long does it take to complete the course?
Course duration is variable. It can take from 6 to 12 months. You have to register for a course.
We offer courses in the morning as well as in the afternoon and in the evening.
Courses always start on Mondays.

How much does it cost?
Participation is free of charge.

Who may participate?
You either need a temporary residence permit (Aufenthaltsgestattung) or a certifi cate of registration as an asylum seeker (Bescheinigung über die Meldung als Asylsuchender – “BüMA” for short) to attend the course.
